Ball Aerospace is a prime contractor leading development teams at AFRL and NASIC. Systems Engineering Solutions provides technical and professional services to defense, intelligence, homeland security and space science markets.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide hardware and subsystem design management support to government customer.
  • Work closely with other related groups to ensure an effective RF solution.
  • Attend program meetings to insure program actions are conducted in a technically sound basis.
  • Prepare briefings, studies and “what-ifs” analyses as the hardware Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Track performance by tasks by related organizations.
  • Perform technical evaluations and analyses.
  • Track contractor’s performance, witness hardware tests and report results to Program Management.
  • Witness subsystem hardware ground and flight tests and report assessment results to Government Program Management.
  • Evaluate the survivability and vulnerabilities of platforms based on the latest hostile radar systems intelligence data.
  • Attend Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and Design Reviews conducted by both Prime contractors and their vendors/subcontractors and report assessment and findings to Senior Program Management.
  • Write detailed hardware and systems requirements for new systems or applications.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What you’ll need:

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related technical field plus 12 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience as an RF hardware or systems engineering lead.
  • Must have a current Top Secret clearance.
  • 5 or more years leading hardware design, analysis, testing and working with contractor hardware teams and contractor equipment is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of RF to include radar systems, electronic support measures, electronic warfare, RF path analysis and antennas.
  • In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office/laboratory setting, predominantly at government locations.
  • Must be willing to travel to technical meetings 8 to 12 weeks per year.

Security Clearance:

Successful candidate will have completed a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. *U.S. Citizenship is Required.
